“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world (the entire Kosmos) unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” - 2 Cor. 5:19 What if all are in, but not all are actively receiving and enjoying the benefits? Did our prayer or decision cause us to be crucified with Christ or seated in heavenly places IN HIM? Does our decision somehow inject us into Christ or are we simply cooperating with His finished work?

While there's plenty of off-the-wall, Anti-Semitic teaching out there (which I vehemently condemn)... Those who accuse others of teaching "Replacement Theology" are quite often FAR LESS INCLUSIVE, Dispensational, "Gap Theorists" themselves.
The Church has never been excluded from Israel's narrative, nor has the Church's true narrative ever excluded natural Israelites! The Church's roots are distinctly Jewish. One simply cannot come to the proper conclusion on this matter while quoting Romans 11 and ignoring the historical backdrop of 70 AD and the rest of Scripture. Romans 9:1 "I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, 2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. 3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: 4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; 5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. 6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: 7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed." Galatians 3:16 "Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ." Galatians 3:28,29 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." Colossians 3:11 "Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all." Galatians 6:16 "And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God." Ephesians 2:11 "Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." The Gospel Message is one of UNION...not dispensations of exclusion and division. Shalom! ~Joe |
